Academic
We are an academic health system with a strong medical school. At present we are not adequately leveraging the full value of our academic excellence to spur research and innovation for the benefit of our health system which includes attracting patients based on our brand and reputation. We are considering ways in which to create a process for fostering innovation to improve patient outcomes, create novel IP, monetize innovation through licensing and commercialization and strive to become a learning health system. We would like to identify the ways in which we could advance and scale that process which is central to our identity and a core part of our future success. This means identifying key strategies and tactics to ensure ownership of the process across the health system, putting in place the competencies and capabilities required to make it sustainable, and ensuring investment and resources needed to scale and grow. All this has to be done in coordination with our efforts to elevate brand, improve reputation, support operational readiness and realize clinical excellence.
